Peanuts are called "longevity fruit"
Loved by people for its mellow taste

It can even be pressed into oil
However, some studies have pointed out

Under what circumstances are peanuts prone to cancer?
How should I eat it?
Peanuts are "healthy products"
The fat contained in peanuts is more monounsaturated fatty acid and polyunsaturated fatty acid, which can reduce bad cholesterol, increase good cholesterol, improve blood lipid status, and prevent cardiovascular disease.
The results of the study show that adding peanuts as a snack to the usual diet instead of other refined grains can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in people with metabolic syndrome to a certain extent.
In addition, peanuts are also good for intelligence and the brain, delay aging, increase satiety, facilitate weight loss, and reduce the risk of colorectal cancer and rectal cancer.
But peanuts are useful if you eat them right. According to the recommendations of the "Chinese Dietary Guidelines", the daily intake of nuts, including peanuts, for healthy adults is about 10 grams, which is about 12 peanuts, and it is not advisable to eat too much.
Does eating peanuts promote cancer metastasis?
In July 2021, researchers from the University of Liverpool published a study in the international medical journal Cancer. The researchers found that peanuts contain a carbohydrate-binding protein called peanut agglutinin. When the human body eats a certain amount of peanuts, this substance can quickly enter the blood circulation and interact with the blood vessel wall (endothelial) cells, thereby producing two types of cells. Factors, namely interleukin 6 and monocyte chemoattractant protein, both of which help tumor cells move from one place to another.
There are two limitations to the conclusions of this study:
❶ is a cancer patient;
❷ The second is to eat a lot of peanuts.
In particular, the study found that only a large dose of peanuts (about 250g, which is equivalent to a bowl of rice at a time) may increase the risk of metastasis only an hour or so after eating, while low doses may increase the risk of metastasis. Into the peanut (25g ~ 35g), no effect on tumor metastasis.
Does earth-pressed peanut oil have a cancer risk?
Answer: Yes.
The contamination rate of aflatoxin mold in peanuts is relatively high (but not all peanuts have aflatoxin mold). In addition, the soil extraction process cannot be refined, and other impurities will be produced.
Therefore, no matter whether it is long-term or short-term eating earth-pressed peanut oil, is not good for health. If you eat a small amount of soil-pressed oil mixed with moldy peanuts for a long time, it is easy to increase the risk of liver cancer and other cancers unknowingly; if you eat too much in a short period of time, it may cause acute poisoning, fever, vomiting, anorexia, Hepatotoxic symptoms such as jaundice, ascites, and lower extremity edema may even lead to death due to liver failure in severe cases.
Throw away moldy peanuts
Can you eat the rest?
Answer: No.
If the peanuts are moldy, it is recommended to throw away all of them, not only the moldy part, because even if the moldy part of the peanut is thrown away, other peanuts may have been contaminated with aflatoxin, and there is still the possibility of cancer.
These two types of people try to eat fewer peanuts
For some people with special circumstances, it is recommended to reduce the number of peanuts as much as possible.
01 Patients with high uric acid and gout
Peanuts are also high-purine foods, which are foods that patients with high uric acid should eat less or not. Excessive intake may reduce the excretion of uric acid and increase the amount of uric acid in the body, thereby increasing the risk of gout attacks.
For patients with high uric acid and non-acute gout, eating 5 to 6 peanuts per day can also help regulate blood sugar and triglycerides.
02 Renal insufficiency
Peanuts contain phosphorus, and people with kidney disease have degraded kidney function and limited ability to metabolize phosphorus, which will increase the burden on the kidneys and aggravate the disease. Therefore, it is recommended that patients with kidney disease have 5 to 6 peanuts a day.
How do eat peanuts healthier?
Don't be greedy when you eat peanuts
The peanut oil content is high, and eating too much can easily lead to obesity. It is advisable to consume about 10g per day. If there is no shell, it is about 12 grains.
Note: People with gout, cholecystitis, diabetes, and indigestion should not eat too many peanuts.
Boiled peanuts are preferred
Boiled, stewed, or porridge is the best way to eat peanuts. This method is not fried or roasted, which preserves the original flavor and nutrition of peanuts to the greatest extent.
Eat less fried peanuts
Multi-flavored peanuts, purple potato peanuts, fried peanuts, etc., may also produce other toxic and harmful substances. After repeated frying or baking, in addition to the high heat, a large number of B vitamins are destroyed, and the protein, cellulose, and fresh peanuts will also be partially carbonized, and the nutritional value will be reduced.
